Ardua Safety has just completed a 16-week contract to support a Scottish demolition contractor during a 19-week project. The project itself was to demolish a now redundant 400Kv substation located in Inverkip for Scottish Power Networks.

The project included the removal of SF6 (Sulfur hexafluoride) gas from the apparatus, before demolition could be safely undertaken which was carried out by specialist contractors. Some asbestos-containing materials  (ACM’S) were also removed before the control buildings could be demolished.

The project was well planned and executed with excellent site facilities. Two successful external audits completed by both the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and Considerate Constructors (CCS) were also achieved.

Ardua Safety provided safety support carried out site inductions/toolbox talks and provided noise monitoring for the project.
