There have been a couple of cases come to court recently regarding the safe stacking and storage of materials.

Both Halfords (a well-known vehicle consumable and bike retailer) and Sirap UK (a packaging manufacturer) have received fines after employees suffered injuries after materials fell onto them.

These incidents highlight the importance of ensuring that materials that you have in the workplace are stored in a safe manner and the risk of these materials toppling over and injuring someone should be reduced to the lowest level possible.

Halfords were fined £200,000 plus £13k costs.

Sirap UK was fined £150k plus £1300 costs.
